Current Situation

UPDATE 07/07/2024 10 A.M.** The fire remains 71 acres and 98% contained. Firefighters will continue patrolling for hot spots. Smoke may be visible within the perimeter of the burn.

UPDATE 07/06/2024 10 P.M. The fire remains 71 acres and is 98% contained. Smoke will remain visible as firefighters continue working on containment. This will be the last update until tomorrow morning unless significant changes occur.

UPDATE 07/06 8:45A.M: Evacuation WARNINGS have been lifted and Juniper Flats is now open.

UPDATE 07/06 8:00A.M. Firefighters worked overnight strengthening containment lines. The fire is now 75% contained. Extensive mop-up exists and smoke is still visible from one of the ridge tops within the burn as firefighters work to extinguish a hot spot. Resources will be on-scene throughout the day working on full control of the fire.

UPDATE 10:00 P.M. The fire remains71 acres and is now 50% contained. The evacuation ORDER area has been downgraded to an evacuation WARNING. Firefighters will remain on-scene overnight and tomorrow working on strengthening containment lines and mopping up hot spots. This is the final update of the evening unless significant activity dictates otherwise. The next update will be tomorrow, 07/06, after 8:00AM.

UPDATE 5:40 P.M.: The forward rate of spread has stopped at 71 acres and remains 0% contained.

CAL FIRE/ Riverside County firefighters are on scene of a 100-acre fire. Significant augmentation of air and ground resources has been requested.
